If we have to go into LA to dance, has anyone been to the ones in LA? We really need a place with a bigger dance floor.

The Mayan in downtown LA is the best for salsa, I think. It has a huge dance floor, but the area near the band is for "regular, big time, local" dancers. : ) Been there and they don't like it when out of towners come into their area.
Also, try atpevents.com for more info on salsa dancing in LA. They have a newsletter that lists salsa places. |

Also... make sure you pack some ear plugs. We have been a couple of times and one time forgot our ear plugs. We had to leave early as it was Painfully loud. It is fun to see the LA SALSA scene up close. A group of desert salseros met up there and we had a great time!
